Hello Roadrunner Families! Please mark your calendars as there are some important and upcoming dates to remember. Thursday, August 3rd from 5-7pm is Meet Your Teacher/Principal, Friday, August 4th is the First Day of School for grades 1-5, and Tuesday, August 8th is Kindergarten's First Day of School. New Mexico State Testing is in April. 5th grade starts April 18 and 19 for Science. All 3rd - 5th grade will participate in State Testing in ELA and Math on April 25 and 26. Please be sure your child gets a good night's rest and is here and on time these days!! Goooo Roadrunners!

Good morning. Due to poor conditions on side roads MESD will be on a two-hour delay.

Due to snow packed and icy road conditions on side roads, all schools will be closed today. Stay warm!

MESD Schools will have a 2-hour delay tomorrow, January 24th, due to forecasted snow throughout the night. Temperatures will be in the teens until 9am. We will be closely monitoring the changing conditions.

Route 66 Student Leadership Council have begun a sock drive to help community shelters. All classes will decorate a box and collect as many new pairs of socks for adults and children. If you would like to donate - drop socks by anytime between November 28, 2022 - December 14, 2022. Help us help others stay warm this winter!!! Goooo Roadrunners!


Route 66 Elementary Annual Read-a-thon - Join us in encouraging students to read as much as they can while earning much needed funds for Route 66 PTO to provide enrichment of the school and community experience.
Students create accounts and then reach out to family and friends around the world to sponsor them. We also encourage students to read as many minutes during this time to increase their reading skills and the love of reading!

Route 66 Honors Their Veterans! Veterans and families have RSVP'd for a breakfast and program on November 11, 2022. For those coming - please bring an ID to get signed in. This security is necessary, however it takes a while so please come ready to wait and converse with those around you!

Wear your costumes and walk the spooky halls while trick-or-treating in a safe indoor environment!


Back-to-School means back to Book Fairs too! All of our school libraries are seeking volunteers to assist with Book Fairs during this school year. Volunteers will receive a 20% discount on Book Fair purchases!

Dear Parents,
You may have heard that our students in 3rd - 5th have had access to the online program Multiplication Nation to help learn and practice their times tables. This summer "Mr. Alex", the creator of the program, is putting on the Wacky Math Show - a live, interactive and virtual experience, so your child can join from anywhere! It is intended for students in grades 3-6, but all ages will have fun! It is totally free for out students, and runs on Wednesdays this summer.
