World Read Aloud Day - 2/2/22
February 2nd is the 13th Annual World Read Aloud Day and MESD schools are excited to participate! Over 30 different authors from around the country (NM, CA, MN, MD, NY, and CO to name a few!) will be joining our elementary and middle school classrooms to do virtual author visits. Students from Moriarty Middle School will also be partnering with the preschool and elementary schools as guest readers. We look forward to the celebration of shared stories across the district!
LitWorld founded World Read Aloud Day in 2010 to celebrate the power of reading aloud to create community and amplify new stories, and to advocate for literacy as a foundational human right. Since then, World Read Aloud Day has evolved into a global movement of millions of readers, writers, and listeners from communities all across the world coming together to honor the joy and power of reading and sharing stories, and continue expanding the definition and scope of global literacy.
