Happy Monday! State testing starts tomorrow for grades 3-5 in the areas of Reading and Math. Please ensure your student arrives to school on time so that they do not have to wait to enter their classroom until the testing session ends. Students have worked hard all year to show what they know and we are excited for some really wonderful results! Thank you for your support SME Families!
NM-ASR State Science testing for 5th grade started today. Grades 3-5 will begin state testing next week in Reading and Math. Please ensure your student is well rested, has a healthy meal and arrives to school on time. Thank you for your support!

State testing will begin the week of April 24-April 28. It is important that students get a good night's rest and have a healthy meal each morning. Please ensure students arrive at school on time so that they do not have to wait until the testing session is over to enter their classroom. Your support is always welcome and appreciated!

Good morning! This Friday March 3rd is the end of grading period 3. Report cards will come out on Friday, March 10th or in your students' Monday folder on March 13th. If your student is missing any clothing items, please come in and check our Lost and Found as we will be donating all left over clothing items to a nearby charity organization prior to Spring Break. SME PTO is hosting a movie night in the multipurpose room this Friday, January 27th at 6 pm. The movie will be Minions: The Rise of Gru. Parent or guardians must accompany students. A required emergency drill (fire drill) will take place this week. Additionally, a few staff members from Edgewood Middle School will be visiting the 5th grade students this Thursday regarding registration for middle school. And, SME Spirit Week/Kindness Week is next week 1/23-1/27. Monday - Favorite Hat Day, Tuesday - Camo Day, Wednesday - Crazy Hair Day, Thursday - Wear your Favorite Color (from head to toe) Day, Friday - SME SPIRIT DAY!!! SME will be holding a food drive next week as well to benefit the East Mountain Food Pantry. We will be collecting non-perishable food items. Thank you and have a wonderful week ahead!
